Marilo Terms of Service

Effective date: July 22, 2026
Last updated: September 24, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Marilo mobile application (“Marilo,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Mehmet Kayaaslan. By creating an account or using Marilo, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Important: Marilo is a group-based live location-sharing application. When you join a group and participate in an active map session, other authorized group members may see your precise location, including while the App is in the background (subject to your device permissions and settings).

1. Eligibility

You must be at least the minimum age required to consent to online services in your jurisdiction, and you must have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use Marilo on behalf of another person (for example, a dependent), you are responsible for that use.

2. Account

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. You may delete your account using the in-app account deletion flow or by contacting us.

3. The Service

Marilo provides tools for groups to:

Features may differ between Free and paid “Marilo Pro” plans, and some features may be limited by fair-use or safety quotas. We may enable, disable, or change features (including paid features and ads) by updating the App or remote configuration.

4. Location Features

Live location sharing is central to Marilo. By starting or joining an active map session with location permission granted, you instruct Marilo to process and share your precise location with authorized members of that group.

Optional location history, when enabled by you, stores your own trail for a limited retention period (currently designed for up to seven days) so you can review it. Location history is intended for your own use within the App and is not a guarantee of continuous recording in all device conditions.

You should only join groups with people you trust. Misuse of location features (including stalking, harassment, or sharing another person’s location without lawful authority) is prohibited.

5. Acceptable Use

Marilo has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Content that breaks the rules below is removed, and the accounts behind it are removed with it.

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create safety or security risks.

6. Subscriptions and Payments (Marilo Pro)

Marilo may offer auto-renewing subscriptions (for example, monthly or yearly “Marilo Pro”) through Google Play and/or the Apple App Store. Prices are shown in the store and may vary by country and currency.

Payment, billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and tax handling are processed by the applicable app store under that store’s terms. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your store account settings.

Pro benefits may include features such as personal location history, higher usage limits, sequential-target tools, and an ad-free experience, as described in the App. Benefits may change over time.

Unless required by law or store policy, fees are non-refundable once charged. If a payment fails, access to Pro features may be suspended after any applicable grace period.

7. Advertising

Free users may see advertisements (for example, banners or optional rewarded ads that unlock temporary access to a feature). Pro subscribers are intended to receive an ad-free experience while their subscription is active. Advertising partners may process device and advertising identifiers according to their own policies and applicable consent requirements.

The precise location that Marilo collects for its group features is not used to target advertising and is not shared with advertising partners.

8. User Content, Reporting, and Blocking

You retain ownership of content you create (messages, targets, images, and similar). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate Marilo for you and your group members. You are responsible for the content you submit.

Reporting. Any member can report content from inside the App: press and hold a message to report it, or open a member’s profile and tap “Report user”. The report reaches us together with the content it concerns. You can also write to mehmetkayaaslan@outlook.com.

Blocking. Any member can block another member from inside the App. A blocked member’s messages and pings are no longer shown to you and no longer reach your phone as notifications. Blocking hides content; because Marilo is used for safety in the field, it does not hide a member’s location from the group. You can see and undo your blocks under Profile → Blocked users, and you can leave a group at any time.

What we do. We review every report as soon as possible, remove content that breaks these Terms, and remove or suspend the accounts responsible. Repeated or serious violations end an account permanently. Reports are not shown to other users, and a reported member is not told who reported them.

9. Third-Party Services

Marilo relies on third-party providers such as Google Firebase, Google Maps Platform, Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and — on iOS — Apple’s App Store and push notification services. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimer

Marilo is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, perfect location accuracy, emergency response, or that the App will meet every purpose. Marilo is not a substitute for emergency services. In an emergency, contact local authorities directly.

The SOS alert notifies the members of your group only. It does not contact emergency services, the police, or any other authority. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number (for example 112 or 911).

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of Marilo. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Marilo Pro in the 12 months before the claim or (b) EUR 50, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

12. Termination

You may stop using Marilo at any time and may delete your account. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by nature should survive (including liability limits and ownership) will survive termination.

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are billed by the app store, not by Marilo. Cancel an active subscription in your store account settings before deleting your account, or billing may continue.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when features, pricing, legal requirements, or operations change. The updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
